Team Doyle Drops Attorney Like Hot Rock!
As we speculated, and recommended yesterday, the lawyer working for the Doyle campaign has been dismissed and sent packing. Courtesy of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
Again, make sure EVERYONE knows that the Governor knew nothing about Maistelman, or, apparently, what is going on in his own campaign. Me thinks thou doth protest too much.
The sh*t that was splattered all over the place yesterday appears to be sticking around for a while. More from the article:
It is likely that none of these investigations will go anywhere. But the stigma of yet another investigation sings out loud and clear. The Doyle campaign succeeded in shooting themselves in the foot, they should have let the story write itself instead of becoming an active participant.
Hopefully the Green Team is smart enough to pick up this fumble and run with it. Time to put away the cutesy ads and come out swinging.
Doyle did not know in advance that Maistelman had been hired by his re-election campaign, spokesman Anson Kaye said Thursday. Maistelman is not working for the campaign now, Kaye said.

Deputy Attorney General Dan Bach said the Department of Justice will investigate whether Maistelman's contact with three Democratic board members violated the open meetings law, which says that government bodies must make decisions in public sessions.
...
Waukesha County District Attorney Paul Bucher said he had received a letter from Sen. Mike Ellis (R-Neenah) requesting an investigation into Maistelman's lobbying of Elections Board members, and Bucher said he would open one. The board voted in Brookfield to sanction Green's campaign.
But Bucher said he had limited information and didn't know whether his inquiry would lead anywhere.
"I'll at least open an investigation and begin to gather some of the documents that I think are necessary," said Bucher, who lost last week's Republican attorney general primary to J.B. Van Hollen.
